Three reasons why you should use animation in your video advertisement

We all know we could save up to £217 on our car insurance. Why do we know this? Because a talking animated meerkat told us.

Animation is an incredibly powerful and flexible tool. With this colourful medium you can create stylish and memorable videos to introduce your company, explain your services or showcase the quality of your merchandise.

When Geoffrey Hunt consulted with us at Doubleshot, he had a clear understanding of his demographic; mid-aged females wanting a reassuring surveyor with expertise in the period property market. Geoff wanted his video to feature on his website and also have an impact on social media; he wanted it to be strong, friendly give a sense of security and also be easy to follow. With these objectives and demographic in mind our motion graphics and animation team created a strong storyboard populated with fun assets to let Geoff’s clients simply know how he would take care of their listed building surveying needs. By using three-dimensional graphics instead of hand drawn illustrations for the houses we were able toportray the solidity and strength of support that Geoff’s clients were guaranteed to receive from him.

Having produced one-off animations for independent businesses like Geoff’s and from regularly servicing international corporations such as Zurich Financial Services, we have come up with three reasons why animation is a powerful marketing tool to showcase and explain your own company’s services, benefits or products.

Endless Possibilities

Animation has no limitation, you can really think outside of the box, create something truly unique and stand out from other companies. Gone are locations, costume, cast and catering expenses — you can feature scenes that would otherwise be impossible to shoot. If you want a car exploding on Mars, it’s possible!

Boost Your Online Presence

Adding animated video to your website is one of the easiest ways to increase your online presence. Video will engage an audience far more than text ever will and for that reason we are likely to spend up to two minutes on a web page with animation as opposed to the usual eight seconds. In addition to this, web pages containing animation rank higher in a Google search. Our client Geoffrey Hunt is now on the first page to appear when you search for building surveyors in Frome.

Timeless Characters

Sometimes choosing the right kind of person to represent the image of your brand can be difficult, with animation you can design the perfect character to represent the uniqueness of your brand; our designers can even illustrate and animate you. We can work with you to sculpt how your characters look, choose what they say and even how they say it. Here is an example of an animated commercial that Doubleshot created for Zurich Insurance:

This insurance provider needed a 30-second advert for new Asian markets and had to adhere to extremely tight deadlines. The campaign was a success and established partnerships reaching over 7 million potential new customers.

Animations are timeless, never grow old and are yours to keep until the end of time — eventually they may even become recognisable to your brand. Take Corn Flakes for example, we can’t imagine this golden breakfast cereal without picturing the Kellogg’s rooster.

Our studio is skilled at concepting storyboards to tight deadlines and restricted budgets, adding nuanced and well-observed motion to give a universal appeal.
