I don’t use a windowsill for propagating plants or seeds. I use regular shelving units with grow lamps and heat mats in the basement. Works better as I can control light levels — from lower by raising the lights — for seeding to higher by dropping the light to the leaf canopy for growing-on. Far easier and much more control over the young seedlings.
