Every self-help book has— at their core —these five messages.

  • Exercise regularly.
  • Eat properly
  • Meditate to be mindful
  • Be kind to yourself
  • Be kind to others without being cruel to yourself.

If You Doubt Me

If you doubt me, go to every self-help book you own. Write down the core message of that book in three paragraphs.

Then précis those paragraphs to one sentence each.

Repeat for every self-help book you own.

I rest my case.
