On Berlin
This is a really interesting piece, but am I the only one perplexed by the Berlin diary? The writer says she prefers the overt sexism of Spain to the “insidious” form taking place in Berlin, and then goes on to provide the following examples:
- Two “sleazy” men make a general comment about a party.
- A “happy-looking” man mumbles something.
- Two weed dealers make contact with her. (presumably to sell weed?).
- Some guys aggressively stare at her.
I suppose I’d like to hear more about why overt sexism is preferable to these sort of events. Perhaps there’s room for another piece on that topic alone.
