The parallels drawn, with the implication of the need to run from elected President Trump being equated with the necessity of people escaping from Nazi Germany, is completely about-face.
In Nazi Germany, the people doing the rioting, screaming down opponents, physically attacking people whose politics did not match their own, etc. were the National Socialists – the Nazis. The people in danger were those wanting to speak openly; those talking of peace with other countries; the peaceful protestors to oppression of a free press. People in general were vulnerable from the activities of the state, not protected by it; they wanted peace and open dialog, not censorship and violence.
In Trump USA, the people doing the rioting, screaming down opponents, physically attacking people whose politics do not match their own, etc. are the Marxists and other extreme left-wing – the ‘SJW’s, feminists and communists. The people in danger are those wanting to speak openly; those talking of isolationism and not being at war with other countries; the peaceful campaigners for a free and honest press. People in general are vulnerable from the activities of those censoring others, closing down dialog and committing violence; they are protected (on the whole) by the state.
Yes, things are bad in the USA but Americans are not being threatened by their President. They are being threatened by those who fight against democracy and open discussion. The shoe is on the other foot than it was in Germany in the 1930s and into the 1940s.
