Magic words and how they sing your customer’s tune

What is it about some words?

Words like…

“Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall.”

“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

“I have a dream!”

And it’s not just political or social moments from history that give words such a powerful, persuasive impact on people, on the elements, and conjure whole vistas of storytelling.

“Let there be light.”

“Peace, be still.”

“Lazarus, come forth!”

Can’t you just see each of these phrases happening in your mind?

How is it that little words in an email or on a website can go through the fiber-optics, bounce off a satellite, appear on another person’s smartphone and make them feel something, make them do something, make them want something?

MAGIC!

How can you turn the words you use into this kind of magical communication?

Some words can even get terrified men to charge into battle with ridiculous odds against them, even 5 to 1 odds like Henry V and the English armies at the battle of Agincourt, depicted by Shakespeare.

“For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”

Words… DANG… they can be SO powerful…

“In the beginning was the…

…WORD!”

On episode #2 of my new podcast, The Music of Copywriting Podcast… which launches next week on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019… you’ll learn how you can start turning your words into this kind of “music” that sang the tune of every audience member in these examples.
