The Death of Beauty?

Three wise men wandered looking for a sign

the first found Truth, though it was hard to define,

the second found Goodness in the heart of the Divine,

And the third found Beauty with its promise entwined.

All three gripped Humans as if elemental

So we thought ourselves transcendental

And Refusing to accept all is existential

We were driven by Desire

To seek Beauty’s potential.

Then somehow something caused a change

Goodness was locked in the Stock Exchange

So Truth was faked and reality estranged

Until Money killed Beauty

at the Devil’s interchange.

But what if God wasn’t really dead

and Beauty survived her deathly bed

And Money left Wealth for Kindness instead

Might we gaze the Stars overhead

And glimpse within a new path to tread.
