As the beautiful days arrive, here they come again! These dear little ants wandering in groups.

In the kitchen, the living room, the walls, the floor… Ant invasions in the house can be annoying, even if they are not dangerous! Fortunately, there are alternatives to insecticides filled with chemicals that are harmful to your health and the environment. You can get rid of these insects in a simple, ecological, and natural way.

1. Coffee grounds:

Ants dislike the smell of coffee. Sprinkle coffee grounds in the areas where ants appear to deter them from coming back.

2. White vinegar:

Mix white vinegar with water in a spray bottle and spray this mixture on ant trails or areas where they gather. Vinegar disrupts their ability to follow scent trails.

3. Cinnamon:

Ants avoid the smell of cinnamon. Sprinkle cinnamon powder on frequently used ant paths or near entry points to deter them.

4. Seal cracks:

Carefully seal cracks and openings through which ants can enter the house. Use caulk or sealant to fill holes in walls, windows, and doors.

5. Chalk:

Draw a line with chalk where ants enter. They tend to avoid this barrier, which will discourage them from crossing the line.

6. Lavender:

Ants dislike the smell of lavender. Place lavender sachets or dried lavender bouquets near infested areas or entry points to keep them away.

7. Lemon:

Lemon juice or lemon peels can be used as a natural ant repellent. Apply lemon juice or rub lemon peels on the surfaces you want to protect.

8. Peppermint:

Ants have an aversion to the smell of peppermint. You can use diluted peppermint essential oil in water to spray the areas where ants are found.

9. Baking soda:

Mix baking soda with powdered sugar and place it near ant-traveled areas. They will be attracted to the sugar, but the baking soda will act as a poison for them.

These methods can be effective in naturally and safely repelling ants. Try different combinations to find what works best for your situation.
