Mr. Tyner, I applaud your effort here but it falls short in one critical aspect: Good journalism takes time. Every story is an in-depth story. A culture that insists on its news being delivered in politician-style sound bites engenders a public to be less informed and less educated about the history they are living through. A Tweet is fine for a “gotcha” but nothing replaces an individual’s need to execute the self control to finish an article and educate himself or herself. You’re arguing for a fundamental overhaul of the core of hard news that cannot and must not change.
