OK, OK. It did have music by Elton John.

Animal stories are not meant to be Darwinian treatises. Or Lamarckian (look him up if you have not heard of him!).

Bambi was first to be critiqued in this manner. Probably comes much closer.

Please spare us the “live action” redux. Beauty and the Beast was scrumptious. Until one realized it was a near word-for-word knockoff (yes, with some nice added nuances). The hand-animated characters were loved and are still loved. The live and CGI versions are already forgotten. Can one win an Oscar for the same music score twice?

The only hope is the Elton John says no :-)

BTW, I have identified the plant: Prickus Malificentus. Imported from Europe, usually grows around castles to prevent a sleeping princess from becoming pregnant before her grand wedding ball (which would be a no-no in older Disney flicks. Don’t know about now.).
