How to use your music sales on Bandcamp in conjunction with Facebook ads to get more fans & sell more music

Please note, this guide recommends you have 100+ sales on Bandcamp (or access to 100+ fan email addresses), and be open to the idea of spending money on Facebook advertising. Don’t be afraid though — advertising spends don’t have to cost hundreds/thousands of pounds. You can get started for as little as £5!

  1. Login to Bandcamp. Go to the “Artist Tools” page. Export a sales report with all sales data. Save this file to your computer.
  2. Go to Facebook Adverts Manager. Go to the “Audiences” page. Click “Create Audience” > “Custom Audience”.
  3. Click “Customer File”; “Add customers from your own file or copy and paste data”.
  4. Under “Add a new file”, upload the sales report you downloaded from Bandcamp.
  5. Agree to Facebook’s terms
  6. Name your audience “Bandcamp customers”
  7. Click “Next”
  8. The window that appears is going to scroll through all of the columns and data in your sales report and give you the option to match it to data Facebook can identify. You need to tell Facebook which columns to match to which identifiers by clicking the “Do not upload” dropdown in each row and matching it to an available…
