German Volume Training (GVT) is a system for experienced bodybuilders. Speaking about muscle hypertrophy here , muscles will be exploded when you switched to higher volume routines such as 10x10. I dont know if a beginner can handle this though. you will also have the worst delayed onset muscle soreness of your life.

Most people make the mistake of using weights too close to their 10RM. You should use weights that you can handle for ~15 reps. I would also advise against using it for exercises where you are injury prone, for example bench if you have bad shoulders, or deadlifts if you have a bad back. This is stuff that should be obvious, but for whatever reason people still get it wrong.
