One of the main selling points of Node.js is speed. JavaScript code running on Node.js (depending on the benchmark) can be twice as fast as compiled languages like C or Java

Could you please add some benchmarks? Because all benchamarks I saw before said just opposite:

I am sorry, but in good old JavaScript it is quite hard to work with asynchronous code. I think you know such term as callback hell. Only after async/await appeared it became simple.
