Social media influences a lot of what we recognize as prominent in our day-to-day lives. In “What Has Social Media Come To?” Tori Mone explains the importance of social media and how crucial it is in our everyday lives. Thus, in her blog she informs us by writing, “Vaid, another social media activists, believes that social media should be your own personal touch on impacting the world. It’s not always about agreeing with someone but being able to start your own movement.” As teenagers living in 2015, most of us know what a mixtape is because social media has taught us. For you old timers, no I am not talking about the actual physical tape that you put in your radio; I am talking about the free online music that you download quickly at the simple click of a button. This is something that has changed the rap business in drastic measures. Adam LDN, for instance, in his blog called “The Mixtape Model” talks about how the new age of the mixtape is very essential when it comes to making it big in the music industry. Adam LDN in his blog says, “The idea behind the mixtape model is to release as much free music as you can and appear on as many singles as a feature (on bigger named artists tracks) as you can, to create a buzz and following.” The strategy of this is true, because the most famous rappers today are prospering from it. In Jackson Morgan’s blog “6 God” he talks about Drake (a currently famous rap artist) and his new song that came out called “Back to Back” which was a hit in the free mixtape world.

Jackson Morgan, a fellow hip hop lover, says in his blog, “In addition to setting the stage for what could possibly be his best release yet with his next album, absolutely destroying Meek Mill with 3 songs in a row really solidified his place in the history books.” As you can tell this song took off very strongly and fans, such as Jackson, showed the world how much he loved it.
