These seven men have a ‘dynamite’ discography!

The list comprising BTS’ top 5 songs of all time does not follow one genre or melody type. It has songs with experimental genres, difficult song structures, and laborious vocal and rap performances.

Most songs in their discography have messages of hope and love. BTS, a.k.a Bangtan Sonyeondan has written volumes about self-love and how prioritizing oneself should be the main focus. The songs created by the group have helped inspire millions of youngsters to work harder and achieve their dreams. They officially debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment in South Korea and have been gaining recognition ever since.

While all the members are completing their mandatory services in the Korean military at the moment, their songs are being streamed non-stop by their fan base, BTS ARMY. Many have reached billions of streams on Spotify and YouTube, making them one of the most influential bands in history.

The list below showcases the top 5 songs from the band that have gained millions (even billions) of streams on Spotify.

The top 5 BTS songs of all time that the BTS ARMY are obsessed with

  1. Dynamite

BTS’ first English song, Dynamite, was released on August 21, 2020, right when COVID-19 had destroyed our spirits and the world had forgotten how to live without worries. The septet released a playful music video along with the song that broke many records in South Korea and the western music industry. The song helped them secure their first Grammy nomination as the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 63rd Grammy Awards. This made BTS the first Korean pop act to be nominated for the prestigious Recording Academy award. Recently, it became the first and only K-pop song on Spotify to surpass 1.7 billion streams.

The disco-pop anthem is vibrant with funky vocals. The members sing their parts in English, a language they were not familiar with. This pop-themed song is a crowd-pleaser that has a story to tell, with a message to the world to never stop admiring life. The key change in the final chorus add to the appeal of this larger-than-life summer track.

2. Butter

Butter has two versions and both of them are phenomenal. The original version is sung by BTS and the second one has Megan Thee Stallion as a guest rapper. The original version, which was released on May 21, 2021, has gained 1.1 billion streams on Spotify, making it the second-best song in the band’s discography.

Butter has many funk elements with a strong bass. Simply put, it is a dance pop song which has the ’80s vibes. Being BTS’ second English single, Butter has easy lyrics which give numerous nods to Michael Jackson, Usher, and Stevie Wonder. The song charted for seven weeks at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, which made BTS an unbeatable contender in the global music scenario.

3. My Universe

BTS’ first collaboration with Coldplay is one of the most listened-to songs. The track was released on September 24, 2021, and has 1.1 billion streams on Spotify. The two groups from two different parts of the world joined hands for the song to send an earnest message of togetherness without any societal boundaries.

The track comes with a simple melody but the lyrics are what catches attention. The vocals are pleasant and the instrumental has a straightforward approach. It debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard song charts as well. In an interview with Vogue Korea, BTS’ Suga said, “When I meet a star, I can tell whether they’re being sincere or not, and Coldplay were so sincere that we were deeply moved by them… We did a lot of melody dubbing while recording the rap sections, and their reactions were fantastic. You could feel it in the recording booth.”

4. Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)

BTS’ collaboration with Halsey was a successful one through and through. It is the fourth-most watched K-pop video on YouTube and has 1.1 billion streams on Spotify. The song, released on April 12, 2019, has a catchy chorus with an upbeat melody. It is full of pop vibes as the septet and Halsey bring in their A-game in the track and its accompanying music video.

The song isn’t very complicated in itself. The lyrics define a typical meet-cute romcom-ish type of love where a boy falls in love with a girl. It is a breezy anthem that isn’t season-specific. Boy With Luv has incredible vocal and rap performances from every member, especially members JIMIN and RM.

5. FAKE LOVE

BTS’ FAKE LOVE was released on May 18, 2018. It is the title track of their studio album Love Yourself: Tear. The song is hyper with an aggressive pre-chorus and chorus sequence.

The single hit the number 1 position on the Billboard K-Pop 100 and it spent a total of 56 weeks on the chart since its release. Often compared with BTS’ 2016 hit, Blood Sweat & Tears, FAKE LOVE has a similar vibe with an impressive hook that sets the tone of the song. However, the song is also popular for its energetic choreography which doubles the emotions within the lyrics.

BTS has no match when it comes to exploring different genres and creating tracks that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The band works towards creating monumental hits that connect music lovers from all over the world. Like every other K-pop group, BTS showcase their hard work and talent through their vocals, rap, performances, and incredible stage presence. It is true when the BTS ARMY says that this is BTS’ world and we are simply living in it!
