Author of THE PLACE OF US - her book about what you do when life surprises you is centered around Karen and her husband's journey into celebrating diversity and fighting for inclusion of their son who had cerebral palsy, and passed away unexpectedly at the age of twenty-three. Karen is a former special education/inclusion advocate who runs on cappuccinos, chocolate, red wine and humor.

She writes about grief and many other truths on Instagram. And is now taking a stab at personal essay. When not writing, Karen is venturing into a new startup business, and is a wannabe interior designer, photographer and loves creating...just about anything.
