My beginning, a crowded hospital maternity ward surrounded by first-generation Californians. Growing up in the in an urban setting shaped my view of the world.

Professionally, I have over thirty years of experience in STEM Education. First job: biology teacher in West Africa while in the US Peace Corps. I would return to the US and teach science to hundreds of students. Grant writing for community outreach programs and working as a STEM Curriculum Development Specialist made up the bulk of my career.

My newest passions are writing children's books and articles on Medium.
