Agree. I immediately thought of “authentic” Mexican food and reproductions (accurately mimicking an original). Authenticity, as an objective, seems highly overrated and virtually impossible to achieve… like trying to nail jello to a tree.

I am, if anything, authentic. Pleasant or a nuisance, honest or criminal, loving or hateful, a giver or a taker, moral, amoral, immoral… I am what I am. I run into trouble when I attempt to appear as something I’m not, a social chameleon. Think politician.
