Kindness Journey — Day 205 — Staying out of online controversies
I don’t get into online political or religious arguments anymore. I realize now that most of them are computer algorithms that use provocative headlines to generate attention in the first place. Anything that I, or anyone else, adds empowers the algorithm and spreads it even more.
I learned that lesson the hard way. I let my emotions and passions run unchecked as I tried to save the world. When my health collapsed, the unnecessary stress and pressure I put on myself played a significant role. Only a handful of real people saw what I said. The results never justify the costs.
There are always online arguments because people love conflict and drama. I’ve reached the point where I can sit back and watch the chaos. Where’s the popcorn?
