A Switchers Tale My Week With Windows

I actually started out my dev career on Windows 7, and switched to my first Mac a year later. I remember the joys of Cygwin—for the most part, it could pretend like it was a Bash shell. But when something went wrong, Good Lord did things go wrong. And finding help online was near impossible.

Thanks for posting these! There are parts of Windows I’m still fond of, even having used a Mac for 6 years, and I love reading posts like this as a barometer of when the developer experience on Windows will be good for everyone, and not just Microsoft developers. I think it’ll get there. Eventually. Maybe.
