Being incapable of failing is the name of the game

“Failure is not an option.”

All of this is incredibly true. As a founder, having impeccable resilience, creativity, and an ability to convince others that your vision is crystal-clear-and-wonderful matters most.

I remember when @bomatson and I were bootstrapping Mybandstock (RIP). We found a unique way to fund our startup by inviting friends to a weekly party in Ann Arbor during the summer of 2008. It turned out to be a summer long series that raised thousands of $’s for the company. The bar even built us a stage and put in a sound system to start booking bands. As college music entrepreneurs we found ourselves at the epicenter of a scene that needed what we offered, and also found a way to pay our bills.
