“Someone is going to crack the ‘meet new people’ in real-life (not for dating) space, make it mainstream, and it’s going to be absolutely massive — the next really big social platform even.”
I’d love to agree, but not sure of the use case to get something to critical mass. What’s the thing everyone cares about to will drive adoption for a new app?
“As well as a windfall financial return for investors”
Aside from meetup.com, what’s a platform that made substantial money connecting people in real life?
“more importantly it will make the world a better place — truly more ‘connected’, and less divided.””
I fully agree…a world with more in person connections and community is an exponentially better world. The time suck economy (aka attention economy) is a huge risk to society long term.
