I’m lucky enough to have the connections to make that possible; pity the poor shmuck who doesn’t have such media emails
Jeff Jarvis

I read this again, looking for the empathy, and I’m not seeing it. It’s a revealing statement of an (rightly so) angry journalist recognizing their position of power and using it in a threatening way. This statement makes me recognize those folks who don’t have the ear of Esquire’s editors, those who lack the power of your voice, the power to defend themselves in this manner. Is the proverbial “man behind the curtain,” revealing itself?

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
