Top Three Free Slide Deck Tools
“I’m a PowerPoint guru.”
I’ve you’re a self-proclaimed guru, you are probably no guru at all.
I’ve heard this line so many times. It’s from people who found an animations menu, and now they are a guru because they changed an animation setting.
*shakes head*
For the rest of us who would never claimed to be a guru of any kind, but who would actually admit that we suck at slide decks, this list is for us.
Designs already prepared for you, a manageable number of choices, and beautifully thrilling simplicity. These tools have it all.
And they are not PowerPoint or Keynote.
HaikuDeck.com
HaikuDeck is an all-in-one platform for creating & sharing slide decks. They help you access photos — and if you put your text in before looking for an image, it will even suggest images for you based on your text.
I’ve built slide decks in HaikuDeck in just a few minutes. This deck below that I did about a year ago took me less than 10 minutes to produce.
Bonus:
HaikuDeck recently launched Zuru — a tool within HaikuDeck that allows you to upload a bare presentation/slide deck, and the tool prepares a beautiful deck for you. You can edit it, of course. I used this tool once, and I’m a bit too much of a perfectionist to really love it, but it worked as advertised. I was impressed with the results.
Visme.co
I just found Visme a couple of weeks ago, and I already love it.
Why do I love this tool so much?
- Animations are included
- Charts & graphs that are beautiful AND easy to work with
- Other kinds of graphics
- Fantastically simple user interface
Check out this project I did using Visme. Like HaikuDeck, it took me about 10–15 minutes. There’s not much content, but it performed the slide deck purpose beautifully — it guided what I was saying without becoming the star of the show.
If you like animations, fancy fonts, lots of layout options and colors, you should go for Visme over Haiku Deck. If you like simple, go for HaikuDeck.
Piktochart.com
I also love Piktochart.
It’s not as easy to use as the other two, but you get brilliant results without a lot of editing, fussiness or bother.
