Organized by Dribbble Manila Admins, the first big Dribbble PH: Manila meetup was a success, held last February 6,2015 at The Office Project Coworking Studio. A meetup aimed to expand Dribbbler population in Manila and impart knowledge to Filipino designers.

How it began

Dribbble PH: Manila has been conducting small meetups since 2015. It’s often composed of (and limited to) 10 attendees. Often held in a coffee shop, this is a more intimate conversation since it’s like a hands on workshop, where 2–3 people teach others about animation, design, and illustration

The Speakers

Dribbble PH: Manila gathered some of the best designers in the Manila Design Scene: Dan Matutina, Kim Tomacruz, and Angela Chua. There was also a lightning talk Rollan Bañez. Each of them with very interesting topics like:

Dan Matutina talked about how design communities can help provide education, opportunities, inspirations, and friendships within a group of designers.

Angela Chua speaking about making a business out of our passions, how it can become sustainable, and how that can grow.

Kim Tomacruz talked about a Designer’s Quarter Life crisis. How to deal with a designer’s anxiety and insecurities.

Lastly, Rollan Bañez talked about the new technologies of Adobe Creative Cloud, how it helps designers and improve their workflow by using Adobe Muse, Adobe Edge Reflow, and other Adobe products.

The Attendees

A total of 39 people attended from different design disciplines: web design, graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, and creative entrepreneurs.

The Sponsors

This meetup would not be possible without our sponsors. The Office Project for our lovely venue, Proudcloud for the food and drinks, Dribbble, Invision, Sticker Mule, and Koncept App for the freebies straight from their Headquarters!
