P2P marketplace for rare physical goods
Welcome to DripNFT, a marketplace for collectables and luxury items, tokenized as NFTs.
More specifically, NFTs traded on DripNFT represent the shipping rights to physical items like sneakers, watches and MTG cards. If you purchase an NFT you can choose to have the item shipped to your address or flip it on the secondary market.
Why buy and sell shipping rights?
Why not sell the item directly? We get two huge upsides to tokenizing shipping rights
- Buyers can flip items without having to take control of physical goods
- Sellers can receive royalties for secondary sales
Benefit to buyer
Traditionally, for things like shoes or watches with strong secondary markets, an item may change hands several times before ever being used. Every intermediary party has to take possession of the item, re-examine its authenticity, and ship to the next party. This is costly, time consuming, and uninteresting to the average flipper.
Without the hassle of holding, shipping and, authenticating physical items, reselling becomes attractive to a new type of buyer. The NFT trader.
Benefit to seller
If you create a listing on DripNFT you can receive royalties on your NFT. Every very time an object is flipped more money heads back to your pocket. Think of this as your fee for storing the item and keeping it safe.
With a flat percentage of all future sales of your NFT heading back to you its even possible to make more on royalties than the listing price itself!
Symbiosis between speculators and collectors
Our hope is that by abstracting collectables as NFTs we open the door to a collaboration between speculators and collectors. The ease of trading digital items should allow for quicker price discovery of items sold on our secondary market and hopefully higher prices.
