In October, the Aston Martin Valkyrie will finally commence track testing at Silverstone — and F1 star Max Verstappen will be behind the wheel.

For as long as the world has known about the Aston Martin Valkyrie — or as it used to be known, the AMRB001 — we’ve yet to see it in its final production form. At first there was a model, after which there was a more convincing looking variant — but the actual car that Aston will be putting into production has neglected to show itself as of yet.

At the end of this month however, that little omission should change, as the production-ready Aston Martin Valkyrie is expected to make an appearance, just in time for the Paris Motor Show. Then in October, the car should be seen completing track tests at Silverstone — which will begin in the hands of Red Bull F1 prodigy, Max Verstappen.

So far, all of Aston’s tests have been conducted using a virtual simulator; that’s where their claims of the car’s absurd ability to lap Silverstone faster than a modern-day Formula 1 car originate. As good as manufacturer simulators are nowadays, the Valkyrie’s abilities will only gain credence through real-life testing.

When the Valkyrie eventually hits the production line, it’ll be available to customers in 3 versions. Firstly, they’ll be a “standard” version, followed by an “intermediate”. And then, right at the very top of the tree will sit the AMR Pro. While the intermediate will be a more track focused version of the standard, the AMR Pro will be a track-only machine, forbidden from touching the public highways.

These reports come after last month’s accidental confirmation of the Valkyrie’s power output by the makers of its engine, Cosworth. For they wrote in a tweet that the 6.5L normally aspirated V12 would produce 1130bhp. The sudden removal of the tweet after its publication suggests they weren’t meant to post it. But whether that 1130bhp includes the hybrid motors that’ll feature in the Valkyrie is yet to be established.

AMR Pro

When the AMR Pro arrives, it’ll probably be sporting even more power. More excitingly however, it is the first car ever to be made genuinely without any rulebook needing to be adhered to. It is the very embodiment of performance itself, unleashed without restraint.

But now I want to ask you guys: are you excited to see the Aston Martin Valkyrie testing at Silverstone? Let me know in the comments.
