Let us face it. There is no other feeling like driving on a twisty mountain road on the perfect day. It is however, important to choose the right set of wheels for the ocassion. And I am here to help you with just that.

5. VW UP! GTI

One of the best hot hatches in the market. The perfect car for the petrolhead who has a smaller budget. But that doesn’t make it any less exciting. In fact, it is widely considered as the true successor to Mk 1 Golf GTI.

And it looks fantastic.

4. Mazda MX-5

This list would never be complete without the Mazda MX-5. It is hard to see why someone wouldn’t want this car for a nice drive on a twisty road, because it is got all the right features, 50–50 weight distribution, front engined, rear wheel drive convertible. Maybe that is why it is been around for so long.

3. Lamborghini Huracan Performante

A Lamborghini with a V10, AWD, and ALA. What we end up with is a former lap record holder at the Nurburgring for production cars. Enough said, the Huracan performante is one of the best cars if you want to take the roads on maximum attack. And it has a few creature comforts as well, to make sure it doesn’t feel like driving a race car.

Now, there are two reasons as to why I chose this over the E-Type Jaaaaaaaag. One is that its modern in every single way. And the other is that it is going to be so much more reliable than the E-Type Jaaaag. This means that you have higher chance of reaching your destination without having to call the AA truck. And you get to drive something that is so beautiful. Besides, even Jeremy Clarkson loves this car. And I can see why.

1. Alfa Romeo Disco Volante

Although Disco Volante may mean the flying saucer in Italian, for any petrolhead, it can only mean one thing. The beautiful Alfa Romeo by Touring. And this car is the best not because of its speed or power, but simply because of its character. While the other cars in the list may make you drive as fast as you can, this is the only car that makes slow down a bit, and enjoy the moment, and watch the sound of its magnificent Maserati V8 bring the hills alive. And for that reason, this car takes the first palce.
