Circumcision is only for Children. Really?

After almost 1200 Circumcision, I am force to explain people that Circumcision is like Vaccination. If you miss that procedure, You will probably need it later during your life. Surprisingly, More than 80% of my patients are adults. Yes, It is True. Most common reasons patients opt for Circumcision are Infections and Pain while sexual intercourse or premature ejaculation. Not Phimosis.

Balanitis or Balanoposthitis:

Infection of Glans penis or Foreskin. After puberty, Men are program to release smegma (Whitish fluid) between Glans and foreskin everyday to avoid friction between the two. This Smegma needs to be cleaned properly on routine basis. Neglecting this, leads infected foreskin and glans that cause thickening of foreskin, cracked foreskin which is unable or painful to retract back, glans becomes hypersensitive and red.

Short/ Tight Frenulum or Frenulum Breve:

Frenulum is a part of foreskin which is attached to glans penis. Having Tight or short frenulum interfere with Penile Erection. Bending of top of penis, bleeding through cut part of frenulum, Premature ejaculation due to painful erection are the signs of short frenulum. This can be dealt with Frenuloplasty (Stitch or Stitchless)

We made Circumcision a Taboo But in real its a sign of Man Hygiene.

Circumcision can avoids future Balanitis/ Balanoposthitis, Short Frenulum, Unpleasant sex Life and yes in long run Penile Cancer too.
