Recently it has come to my attention that Sinead O’Connor has publicly shared an emotional plea on social media. She posted about how sad she was all the time and begged for her family to care about her. She also posted about how her psychiatrist thought of her as his hero. She told everyone that he was the only reason keeping her from killing herself. This was a shock to everyone, including me, that she was struggling. This example shows that no matter who people are, famous or not, anyone can feel sad, depressed, lonely, or even struggle with suicidal thoughts. It is important to know that you are not alone and that everyone has struggles and hardships. If you have these feelings, please reach out to someone. It can be so hard to reach out and talk to someone about how you’re feeling. Don’t feel like you are an inconvenience or burden to anyone. If my friends were struggling, I would always be open to talk and be there for them so I can encourage them and help lift them up. There are also anonymous connections you can call or talk to online if you don’t want to share with someone you know. It’s important to know that you are special and your life has a greater purpose. Don’t make a decision that you can’t take back. Life is fragile. Reach out to someone and it’ll be the best decision you’ve made.
