Thanks Diego. Great to know that one of the experimentalists who generously shares data agrees with this viewpoint.

And, indeed, hopefully the Neurodata Without Borders initiative will encourage others. Even just the fact that big labs are leading by example will help enormously, with large datasets now shared on CRCNS.org by the Svoboda lab, the Buszaki lab, and of course the Allen Brain Institute.

And I think these examples helped win over my collaborators in Chicago (Angela Bruno & Bill Frost) to the idea of data sharing, such that we have shared the VSD imaging data from our eLife paper last week on CRCNS.org !
