Enough is Not Enough!

Why some people are so rich
and have so much money
as a child, I was always curious
especially when my dad rarely offered me a penny

I asked my dad one day
why were we so poor
despite all the education that he had
and he said he was not sure!

He didn’t think he was poor though
money and happiness run side by side
the duo never meet in real life
they are foes and not friends, he would confide!

I never harmonized with my dad then
but never disagreed with him non- the- less
I realized the reality only when
I had enough money but no happiness

I had read a story in the school
zero minus zero equaled a zero
How about a big zero minus a small zero?
I got confused as to why not a big zero!

The answer evaded me in the spring
I found it in the summer, I feigned
I ultimately solved the puzzle,
when the autumn of my life reigned

If we learn to say enough is enough
happiness will be profound!
And if enough is never enough
peace will never be around!
