Dr. Peter Mulhern: Joint Replacement Specialist

Dr Peter Mulhern is an Orthopaedic surgeon who is now in private practice in Ocoee, Florida. He received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine in 1983, and did his post-graduate training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

“I have been practicing General Orthopedic surgery since completing the residency in 1988,” he said. He is currently at the Florida Center for Orthopaedics in Ocoee, and before that spent four years at the Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala and an office in Lady Lake, Florida.
Orthopaedic surgeons treat many musculoskeletal conditions, often without surgery, such as back pain and ruptured disks, osteoarthritis, sports injuries, and work-related injuries. Like all orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Mulhern is familiar with all aspects of the musculoskeletal system. But over the last four years, he has focused on joint replacement surgery for hips, knees, and shoulders. Such joint replacement surgeries were once considered very advanced, but they are now commonplace. There are more than one million hip and knee replacements performed in the United States each year, and most of the people who get them report greatly reduced pain, and improved mobility.

Dr. Peter Mulhern is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Florida Orthopedic Society and the Florida Medical Society.
