Opinion: Interprofessional Conflict among Health Professionals. What is the way out?
Devoid of doing or saying anything, an individual with an unprecedented level of knowledge is essentially intimidating, and that in a way materializes to dominance.
Interprofessional conflict among healthcare professionals can be as a result of perceived superior knowledge, and wider scope individuals assume to have possessed more than people of other domains.
I sense the way forward is for every professional to build his substance, thereby conveying his theoretical knowledge and clinical prowess, in a way making individuals of other professions discover to never be stuck with the opinion of been superior as inferred by them pre conditionally. This will earn people a paradigm shift, adapt and see things differently.
In extension, I also believe that interdisciplinary care approach will make the desired shift faster by compelling healthcare professionals to learn about each other discretely.
