Holy Spirit Intercedes for us with groans

Romans 8: 26, 27 “the (Holy)Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the (Holy)Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the (Holy)Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will”

Groan means to make a deep sad sound because you are in pain or to whom that you are unhappy about something. Holy Spirit groans for us when we could not pray … during our tough times, during the period of time when we are not knowing what to pray and how to pray? We all come across this state.

I experienced twice in this year, Holy Spirit was groaning for almost two months. I don’t know the reason. A burden occupies my heart whenever I kneel down to pray . God already knows the future what I am going to face. HE knows everything that are going to be against me and my faith is going to be shaken up soon!!

“We can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (2 Corinthians 1:4). Our experiences are to guide others. An angel from heaven appeared and strengthened Jesus Christ in Mount of Olives (Luke 22:43). Jesus Christ will be arrested, before that Father in Heaven have send an angel to comfort him. Same way, Jesus promised us Holy Spirit, the Counselor (John 16:7) who will comfort us.

The groaning of Holy Spirit is to reduce those pains the world offers us. Life of Joseph and Job was painful but at the end they were examples to stand in righteousness, integrity and to trust the Lord whatever we go through.

Our trials and tests are to glorify God. Let us be guided by the Holy Spirit in and out of ourselves, allow HIM to speak to our hearts and HE will tell us “GOD IS LOVE” and strengthen us during our groanings.

Holy Spirit was there to intercede for us when we could not!!
