So, it’s been a few years since my last story. My only story. I should probably fill everyone in on where I have gotten to since then.

Whole Foods never called me back. The friend who worked there left one day and never came back. Even her husband was surprised. I did eventually buy a bed, and am currently living debt free (except for those pesky student loans).

I have more than gotten back into code, I am excelling at it again. I started a Chess game that I brought nearly to completion than thought better of it, and donated it to the freeCodeCamp Earth group, which I am a moderator for. I kept an unaltered copy of my original code, as I plan to finish it my way eventually, but it is now an open source collaboration for anyone interested in learning how to do any of the verbs in this sentence. And that is not all I have been building, either. Lately I have taken an interest in turning old magic tricks and bar puzzles into JavaScript applications. I made a matchstick and coin arena that I am considering adding dice to as well.

I was eventually able to get a job that paid more than 10 dollars an hour. The nice part is that I get to be a dad to my son. That is literally my job now.

And I even got back into my long lost love for magic. I discovered a youtuber that had an impressive ten years long catalog of tricks, and started at their first episode. When tax time came around for the second or third time since I last wrote, I bought nearly the entire store of props and gimmicks they sold in their online store. I now have a ridiculous amount of playing cards.

I even moved into a better apartment.

I am still lonely, but I have grown accustomed to it, and really appreciate having the time to myself. I can practice all of my wizardry without interruption while my son is at school, and spend time with him when he is home. Life is good.

Health issues continue to pop up, and have made getting fit a nearly impossible task, and I still eat right, but I still don’t have a car and access to the kind of food that makes up a good diet. That’s the new plan. Get a car, get healthy again. I quit smoking. Good start.

Thanks for following my journey this far. Maybe I will update you again in four years. Maybe sooner.
