Graham Lawrence You have misinterpreted the meaning of The Singularity. In its original sense it just means the time when artificial superintelligence will become more important in society than mere human intelligence. But there has been a lot of discussion since that original definition and some people have pointed out that augmented human intelligence can also qualify as artificial super intelligence. Some even see an end point when human and intelligent machine will have merged and become indistinguishable from each other (A singularity, if not The singularity). Two of those 3 senses fit this article, so, no, the title did not over promise.
