“You Hear About It. But You Hear About It Happening Elsewhere.”

This is one of the main reasons I will constantly stick up for people of cultures outside of my own, who face harassment, bullying and verbal attacks simply for daring to exist in their own skin.

Because I know that whilst it may be focused on one particular ethnic group now, it is all too easy to broaden the collective net to include other groups. Not just because of wilful ignorance on the part of the perpetrator, but because getting away with it, or seeing it as ‘acceptable behaviour’ in one case, is tacit approval to extend their actions unto others.

“The standards you walk past and ignore, are the standards you accept” — General Morrison (Australian Army).
