Maybe I am a piece of shit, you’re not the first to call me that today.

Right, but, you are taking anecdotal evidence and formulating an opinion on his interview experience. You claim the following:

It’s still astounding to me that there is an expectation that the author can walk into a job interview for a software development position and be surprised to the point of offense when asked to demonstrate the core competencies to prove he is fit to perform the job. Instead he wants to substitute his number of consecutive active days of github.

I am not so sure the Author is expecting this. He has done his fair share of interviews. I think what he is trying to point out that, for example, the software engineers at Google (Erick Johnson), take anecdotal evidence to correlate and empirical response to being hired.

You are the epitome of this article. You are the exact reason why this man does not have a job. I do not think Author is trying to complain to the point of wanting to be handed a job. He wants a fair opportunity.

May I offer a suggestion? Since, you have so much experience interviewing at Google, then, you should be kind enough to offer him some suggestions on he can get past this road block in his life.

Anyway, have a nice day!
