I am sorry for causing you pain!

This future is years away. For the moment, just driving around Naples for a year under existing traffic laws would still be major achievement.

Between now and this distant future, ethicists and planners and politicians will have a lot of time to determine how they want to regulate an advancing speed-safety frontier.

It is honestly not clear to me whether society is better off limiting future self-driving cars to lower speed limits and near zero collisions, or higher speed limits and slightly more collisions. But hopefully that is a choice we get to make. With human drivers, we are stuck on lower speed limits and over one million automotive fatalities annually.
