Day 1 of 365. The start of a new chapter.

Chances are you’ve gathered a list of goals you want to do this year. Let’s take a look at this list. Does it include things that helping towards you growing or feeling comfortable?

Hopefully, your list includes more of the former. Sure it seems scary to set massive goals but that’s how you grow. Life is never experienced from the comfort zone. If there was one lesson 2017 taught me, it was to get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Where are we going is the question and where things get interesting and exciting depending on your perspective.

Success is relative to what we’ve been exposed to. Whether through nurture or nature, the definition of success that we jump on the hamster wheel to achieve will either strengthen us or cause us nothing but pain.

We’re encouraged to “hustle”, to “grind”, and “put in the work". But if one doesn’t know what they’re, hustling, grinding, or putting in the work towards or for, they’ll end up spending a lifetime chasing nothing more than a mirage.

The good news is that…

Time is too short to be faking it until you make it. Keep things real with yourself and you’ll be able to keep things real with others.

Sure you need things like passion, focus, consistency, and dedication. But there is nothing like experience.

At a time when technology has granted us access to leveling up our knowledge banks in a way never before possible, we sure are wasting the opportunity.

We all started somewhere but that doesn't mean you stay where you start. In the end the choice is yours. #alwaysupward

The past few months alone have inspired quite a few thoughts, that if given time would fill volumes. It’s been a whirlwind of craziness between client projects, failed partnerships, and parenthood. At moments it felt downright overwhelming. Some moments, imposter syndrome felt as if it paralyze me from moving forward.

One of the things I wanted to do more of this year was release more content. Yet, with the demands of my day to day even posting on Instagram felt like an accomplishment. No amount of content planning or scheduling could help. …

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about success. Success in the terms of achieving goals and where it fits in within the bigger picture.

I ended up thinking about this after achieving a few goals I didn’t quite expect to achieve so soon. While grappling with the joy it brought, deep down my gut kept yelling at me to not get distracted. This is when the thought hit me. Often, when we achieve something that on a personal scale is awesome, we tend to get stuck.

How? By allowing ourselves to get comfortable in the success that now lives in…

There’s a certain rush that extends through your body. Right before doing something classified as exciting or even life changing. For some it could be starting a new relationship, career, or even business. For others it could be jumping out of a plane, traveling to new places, or even trying new foods.

Somehow many of us miss out on the opportunities that will lead us to greatness because we hold ourselves back. We’re putting ourselves at a constant disadvantage. Our perceptions cause us to think that we may not be as important as the person next to us. That the…

The results of tomorrow begin with the seeds we plant today. We all want to accomplish more yet somehow find ourselves coming up short. It’s as if the day is structured differently for those we see being successful.

I’ve been focusing on challenging my creative expression lately, utilizing low-cost to free tools to prove a point to myself. Create + Flow was a result of such an experiment. Utilizing an app called FilmoraGo, I was able to put together a simple video in less than thirty minutes!

Create + Flow is a short film centered around a macro view of creative flow states. Whether you’re building a brand that delivers a product or service, the process ultimately becomes the end result.

If you enjoyed this film, leave a comment and share it with a friend! This short film is part of my ongoing Always Upward project. To learn more about the Always Upward project visit http://ift.tt/2inQlnb

The past few weeks have been challenging, eye-opening and extremely motivating. In this midst of reflecting and a little excellent banter with a close friend of mine, there was one question that really stood out.

How badly do you really want to achieve your dreams?

Lets really think about this for a moment. How often do we think about how nice things would be if we achieved that one thing we’ve been dreaming about for so long? How often do you find yourself watching the clock until you can work on what really motivates you?

Or maybe the situation is one where you are working on your dreams but the…

You may have been lead to believe that in order to succeed approval is needed from everyone around you, when the reality is you need to give yourself permission to be.

You aren’t here to justify anyone else’s existence.

The quicker you realize that you’ve been blessed with a unique set of gifts and talents is the sooner you’ll begin to walk the path you’re destined to travel. Allowing yourself to get caught up in every little emotion that floats by is the quickest way to put yourself on the sidelines of your own story.

We all have different dreams…
