The G-House Pirates with Dean Kamen

The photo above is my robotics team at the FIRST Robotics Gala this past week in NYC. My team, Team #354, the G-House Pirates, were representing the entire FIRST Robotics Competition community at the yearly gala, which was held in the very beautiful Cipriani Club 55 ballroom.

It was incredible to talk to so many individuals who are avid supporters of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) being present in as many schools around the world as possible. Some of those individuals even made my team a little star-stuck. 🤩

The man directly to the left of the robot from the photo’s perspective is Dean Kamen, the founder of FIRST and the inventor of products suck as the infusion pump and Segway. He chatted with the students, took pictures, and even signed the robot! 🖊

Along with this incredible honor, we also had the opportunity to talk to talk to Don Bossi, the president of FIRST, and reporter Soledad O’Brien. It was a great experience and thank you to FIRST for letting us attend!

Do not listen to other people’s take on the life you should lead. By not listening, you can figure out what your heart is telling you to do.
