NestedFunds is a nascent start-up enterprise that aims to tackle one of the most urgent and under-resourced challenges of our time, namely the provision of assistance from adult offspring to their elderly parents. Our primary objective is to equip adult children with the necessary tools and resources to successfully navigate this crucial phase of their lives, known as the second relationship.
Our project entails the creation of an intuitive user interface and visually appealing design for a web-based mobile application aimed at facilitating financial information comprehension for adult children. In order to accommodate the process of information sharing and gathering with their parents, we must factor in the end-users’ specific needs and preferences. Our ultimate goal is to imbue the application with a sense of warmth and humanity, thereby enhancing the overall user experience of navigating the complexities of the second relationship.
Research
We conducted extensive research on our target audience, primarily comprised of millennials. Our study aimed to identify the essential and appealing aspects when dealing with a critical topic such as finances. Our findings indicated that users preferred a charming and approachable aesthetic, which could bring a smile to their faces and enable them to comprehend complex financial concepts easily.
Additionally, we investigated millennials’ perceptions of the elderly and found that many admired their ability to stay true to themselves and pursue their dreams, no matter how unconventional or playful.
To create an engaging and user-friendly design, we employed Chatgpt to gain insight into how to present financial information in a fun and interactive format. We also consulted Chatgpt for common retirement goals to ensure that our design meets the needs of our target audience.
Market Research
We conducted extensive market research and identified a gap in the market for websites and applications that assist adult children with caring for their aging parents. Additionally, our analysis of financial apps revealed that many needed more engaging and visually appealing graphics.
To address this gap, we decided to incorporate a playful personality into our application to provide users with a fun and enjoyable experience while dealing with the often-serious situation of caring for elderly parents. By providing a visually attractive and easy-to-use user interface, we aim to make our application accessible and user-friendly for our target audience.
Incorporating a playful aesthetic into our design will offer users a more positive and uplifting experience, providing an innovative and unique approach to assisting adult children with their parents.
As a popular app in the market, The Mint app interface is designed to provide users with a comprehensive yet user-friendly financial management experience. The app’s interface is organized into several key sections, each providing essential information to users.
The home screen displays a snapshot of the user’s financial situation, including account balances, expenses, and upcoming bills. Users can quickly access detailed information about their accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, investments, and loans.
The app’s budgeting tool allows users to set up and track their budgets, including categories such as food, transportation, and entertainment. Users can customize their budgets to fit their needs, set spending limits, and receive alerts when they exceed them.
Mint also features a goal-setting tool that enables users to set and track financial goals, such as saving for a vacation or paying off debt. The app provides personalized recommendations for achieving these goals and offers tools for monitoring progress and adjusting plans accordingly.
In addition to these features, Mint offers users the ability to track their credit score and receive personalized advice for improving it, as well as alerts for unusual account activity or potential fraud.
Overall, the Mint app interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, providing users with a comprehensive yet accessible financial management tool.
