The 4th Meteor Ho Chi Minh Meetup Review
At our 4th Meteor Ho Chi Minh meetup, took place on 17th September, 2016, we were able to welcome more than 30 people, with speakers from Designveloper and Harvey Nash. Everyone was keen on listening to different experiences and getting to know various problems faced. For those of you who couldn’t make it, here’s the review:
A Look Back On What We Had Done:
In charge of MC, I was welcoming our guests and waking through what we had been planning to do that day
The evening kicked off with the latest Meteor news, presented by Son Le. The aim of this part was to give us a quick look about what’s happening in the Meteor world these days.
Huy Trinh was on next, talking about “Multiple player game Unity3D with Meteor”. In this session, Huy shared about how to build Unity3D webGL with Meteor through raw JS and explored a interesting demo.
Then, we took a rest and had some fun. With amazing voice and incredible guitar solo, Minh Duc and Thao Huyen, students from University of Economics majoring in Business Information Systems, brought to us a fantastic performance of the mashup: Killing me softly with his song, Fly to the moon, Love you like a love song.
The final topic was related to Microservices with Senecajs, presented by Trung Dang, one of our guests from Havey Nash.Trung delivered his presentation with a professional manner. He provided attendants with a lot of useful information that could be found here.
Participants listened carefully and soon after speakers finished their parts, there was an open discussion about the topics.
The last part of our event seemed to be the most expected because all attendants have a equal chance to get free tech gifts. Our system randomly selected one luckiest guy who checked in at Designveloper. Besides, those speakers who shared their helpful topics that made this event such a success were rewarded by Mr. Hung Vo — our generous sponsor
Finally, the meetup ended with some interesting casual chats sharing knowledge and experience in web development in general and in using Meteor in particular.
So there you have it, these are the kinds of meetup happening last Saturday. Sounds like a good time, doesn’t it?
And as always, if you want to access to older presentations, you can view them here.
What attendants talked about us
We got some positive feedback as well as invaluable advice on how to improve the quality of meetup.
Nhat Bui — a developer — said that we had great demo. However we shouldn’t have gone deep into technical because of time limit. We highly appreciated all of your feedback and will use it to evaluate changes and make improvements in our next meetup.
We also had a short interview with Aram Zadikian, he congratulated us on our successful meetup with nice topic and expressed that he would love to be our speaker in the upcoming event.
I will have other blogs for those topics of the meetup for you to easily follow. But now just have a look at slides of these topics:
