I can see the need not to make it explicit in most contexts in business given the protocols that are baked into how one should be or act in business and then allowing trust to emerge from the discussions and that feeling of “we’re in this together”.

In theatre school, the explicit need for trust was identified very early in classes and then practiced through trust and other exercises to build trust.

A “sense of pregnancy” and or explicitly done earlier in the conversations and or practiced along the way — I see these as all useful and valid, given the intention is there and we are giving appropriate attention and priority for the need for trust.

The problem I see often is the intention to build trust is just not there nor facilitated to help it be so.

What is intriguing is what stops us from talking and acting on it earlier in business contexts.
