Neighborhoods We Love: East Village

Exlpore The East Village, Manhattan

The East Village is technically part of the lower East side, and is also sometimes considered part of Greenwich Village. However, it developed it’s own identity and is now known to New Yorkers as the East Village. The East Village has a very diverse community (which says a lot, since all of NY is very diverse) and is home to all sorts of places. In the 1970's it was the spot to be if you were an artist, student, musician, or writer. Today it still has a hip vibe to it and a fun nightlife atmosphere. St. Mark’s Place, also known as 8th Street, is one of the most famous streets in the East Village. It’s a culture hub and houses the neighborhoods most famous bars, restaurants, and shops!
