A modern Web Application is made up of three main components; a front-end, a back-end, and a database. Some may group the latter two together, but for the purposes of this article, we will keep them separate.

A popular and productive technology stack today is a combination of React/Redux for the front-end, Python/Flask for the Backend, and SQLAlchemy as the Python Object Relation Map (ORM) to communicate with your SQL database.

React-Redux-Flask marries these technologies in a standard boilerplate that will help you get started on writing your app.

Some additional features and functionality include:

  • Restricted Routes
  • JWT Based Auth
  • Babel 6
  • React-Router-Redux
  • React Router 2.0
  • SCSS processing
  • Webpack
  • Alembic
