Scenario Use Case

The more you work with data, the more likely it becomes that you will need to import various data sources into one “source file”.

In this case, I have multiple Excel files — exactly the same structure and format — that I want in one Excel data table.

List of Excel files I want to merge

This is easy to do with ASAP Utilities (Excel add-in) and the Import functionality.

How to do it!

  • Open up an Excel workbook (new or existing)
  • Select ASAP Utilities…

  • Set ASAP Utilities merge preferences

  • Select files to merge and click “Open”
Merge files selected / click “Open”
  • Merged worksheets appear in one worksheet!

Next Steps

I now have a data set that is easy to work with.

In the next post, I will walk through adding this to an existing data set and incorporating it into a data analysis exercise.
