I recognize that my participation in the gig economy is hardly representative of most people’s experience. Indeed, I wrote a post about “The Hook-Up Economy” (https://medium.com/@dtunkelang/the-hook-up-economy-ba340c0fdf2c#.h2xk22wt8) in which I argued the relative benefits of going steady or even getting married to a single employer — for those who have the opportunity to do so. I’m fortunate to be in a highly privileged position, and I recognize that most people don’t have access to the same opportunities. I hope I’m making good use of mine.
