Lots of ways since I straddle two highly sought after but often not as highly targeted demographic. Sometimes it’s going after something before it becomes a trend like advertising to LGBT, mobile marketing or just taking my diverse experience and growing up poor and knowing when a campaign won’t work and the reasons why. Often times marketing people have this one size fits all approach to marketing that doesn’t work in the reason world. I’m a lot stronger in Google Analytics and data then a lot of people I work with over my career and that has helped me see issues with ideas and fix tech challenges that other people can’t see or do. When you’re already behind the 8 ball as a minority, you’ve to work twice as hard and know more then your mostly white, male, coworkers who don’t try to stay ahead of the curve.
